Happy Tuesday everyone! I was just perusing YSL's website and noticed that one of my newly acquired eyeshadow duos (Midnight Blue/Solar Gold) was already listed as "out of stock". Okay, I realize that the fall 2010 Rock & Baroque line was just released a few months ago, but sold out? Already? Which got me thinking this navy blue/gold combination is going to be very popular this fall.
So what better way to end August than with a new fall eyeshadow (albeit a sold out one). In addition to the YSL Midnight Blue/Solar Gold Ombres Duolumieres ($41 US) I also used Exceptionnel de Chanel Intense Volume & Curl Mascara in Smoky Noir ($30 US) to achieve the look below.
The shadow went on very smoothly and was very easy to blend. I used Solar Gold on the inner and upper portion of my eyelid as well as along the bottom rim of my eye. I then highlighted the outer portion of my eyelid with Midnight Blue. I finished it off with the Exceptionnel de Chanel mascara.
Are you liking the navy blue/gold combo that is gearing up to be hot this fall?

Glossy Monday!
Happy Monday everyone!
To start the week, I thought I would profile my favorite make-up item - lip gloss! My favorite brand of lip gloss has to be Georgio Armani's Lip Shimmer. It goes on smooth and silky, has a delicious smell and is easy to apply. Each retails for about $27 US.
# 16 - Dusty Pink |
#63 - Pink Nude (Ltd. Edition) |
Are you a gloss-a-holic like me? What are your favorites?

Estee Lauder - Blue Dahlia Nail Lacquer
Today I'm highlighting Estee Lauder's new fall 2010 nail lacquer - Blue Dahlia. Lauder promises this collection to be "Mysterious and cool. Intensely seductive. Color at the edge of night". After seeing the colorful ads I was hooked and couldn't wait to get my hands on this polish, or rather this polish on my hands!!
After one coat I got an intense rich color that was shiny and dried fairly quick. However, the thing I noticed was that the color was a very dark blue whereas the advertisements show the color almost as an intense creamy blue. (intense - my word of the day!)
Overall I LOVE the color and can't wait to wear this with my fall wardrobe.
Will you be wearing Blue Dahlia this fall?

Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow: Smoky Eyes
So I thought for my first make-up blog I'd feature some Chanel. Chanel is one of my favorites for eyeshadow, lipgloss and mascara.
First, let's highlight the Quadra Eye Shadow in Smoky Eyes. In creating this look I also used YSL Dessin du Regard Eye Pencil in Charcoal Grey and Guerlain Le 2 de Mascara.
The eyeshadow was a dream to work with, went on very smooth and blended really well. I really like how the lighting changed the way my eye looked. Even with my fair skin and blond hair, the darkness of the eye didn't make me look like a member of KISS.
Overall, very pleased with this product, although I would definately wear this for an evening out rather than a daytime option.

Once Upon a Time......
Every good fairy tale starts with this, right? Only fitting that I should do the same!
First a bit about me - I am a stay-at-home mom to my two beautiful children. While I was once working the corporate world of human resources, my life now revolves around my family and my obsessive interest in all things fashion, beauty, entertainment and food.
My intent for this blog is to share with you the things I am passionate about, things I think are worthy of discussion and things I just plain think are funny!
I encourage you to leave comments or suggestions. Topics or ideas for discussion are also welcome!
Let the enchantment begin!
